PARENTS’ and Players’ Commitments:

• Ages: We will accept players with birthdays from 8/1/1994 through 7/31/2006.
• Registration
  • New U5 Program – 4 year olds, who have not played before, will be on teams together and play only other 4 year olds with more ball time and the opportunity for more parent involvement!
  • U5-U12 Payment must be RECEIVED no later than 8/5 (extended). Mail to DYSA, PO Box 1556, Decatur, AL 35602
  • U16 Payment not required until after August 7th (When we are sure of teams).

  • Fee: $60 per player up to a family maximum of $180
• Requests: DYSA has a no request policy for U-8 and above (players 6 years old and older as of 7/31). Siblings will be placed on the same team if they are in the same age and gender group (where applicable) unless noted otherwise. If you require special consideration, please include a letter to the DYSA Board describing the situation with your registration. The DYSA Board will evaluate these letters and will decide if the Special Request can be honored.
• Refunds: Requests for refunds received prior to 7/31 will be refunded in full. Requests for refunds after 7/31, but before the draft, will be refunded minus $30. No refunds will be given after teams are drafted. Refunds requests must be emailed to treasurer@decaturyouthsoccer.com.
• Behavior: Parents, Players and guests have a responsibility to promote good sportsmanship while supporting and encouraging all players, coaches and referees to do their best. Parents, Players and guests will refrain from derogatory comments and foul or abusive language directed toward anyone on the soccer fields. This is a recreational league designed to expose players to a variety of positions while developing basic soccer skills. By registering or attending games, all agree to the code of conduct.
• Weather: The DYSA phone number (256-274-1474 NEW!) goes directly to voice mail. We use this phone number to post messages, such as weather delays. It can be difficult for us to provide timely responses to phone messages, and therefore we recommend you contact us by email. Volunteers needed!
DYSA is a non-profit, volunteer organization. We cannot maintain the league without parent involvement. We need coaches, age group coordinators (no soccer knowledge needed!!), registration help, and others. We also need referees (at least 13 years old with several years of soccer experience). Referees are paid based on the age group that they referee. If there are not an adequate number of coaches in an age group, the DYSA Board will try to find more coaches. If there are still not enough coaches, the Board reserves the right to draft teams without a coach, delay the draft until there are enough coaches, or reduce the number of teams in the age group.
